This place is always reliable. They have a great happy hour with cheap drinks and a really nice staff food is good too.

Excellent entrees. We had scallops and salmon, both were delicious. Drinks were well made, starters were potato skins with duck. Could have been a little better prepared but still good. Service was outstanding. Will go again, menu had nice options.

Absolutely enjoyed it. Greek Salad with calamari for $8.95 add a salmon MR cooked wonderful. Happy hour Bottles $1.75. Thank you great job.

I had high hopes and was very disappointed. Marginal tasting "Sysco" type food and menu, high prices an unorganized back of the house operation. Was it terrible "No". Will I go back? Maybe in a few months when they get it straightened out. As a local I want them to be successful, but I don't want to waste my money. There are just to many other choices.

Social media is generally reactionary and often annoying because of how fast anyone can berate one another or a business or anything in particular. That being said, at the risk of being that ugly person, here we go: This place SO FAR has missed the mark on a few important levels, the menu is unoriginal and pricey, the aesthetic when you walk in and are seated, is underwhelming at best. You should not feel like you are eating in a banquet room when you are actually looking for a warm comfortable feel. The food when delivered is of poor to fair quality in its preparation. The one high point is the wait staff, ours was terrific.

Stopped into SoPo with the girlfriend as part of our Reuben challenge, trying to find the best Reuben in the Portland area. It is a fairly large space with the bar located on the back wall. It was clean and open with some booths with individual tv's. Thankfully not very loud, likely related to the small crowd. We sat at the bar, had a beer, and a Reuben. It was all fine, though fairly unremarkable. Not really something I would go to or order again. It's not a bad place, it's just a bar, that serves food, just another sports bar/pizza/burger joint. Guess we will have to try the deli to make a complete rating.

I have only had the nachos and wings there but the beer selection is good and the staff is nice. You can pack like 300 people in that place!

Just tried SoPo Bar & Grill's deli for the first time today. It's only day two of operations, as far as I know, and the Deli doesn't look much different than the Deli that previously occupied the space. What is different is the buzz - there's probably three times the number of kitchen staff and they're hustling. I called and ordered a wrap off their menu and made a number of alterations to it, they were very accommodating and the food was good. Looking forward to checking out the rest of the menu as well as the Bar & Grill once it opens.

I came to SoPo Bar and Grille with my husband for date night. We purchased a Groupon for this restaurant and had an excellent meal! The Groupon included an app, two entrees, and two cocktails. Our server was friendly, attentive, and on point. We started off with two prickly pear margaritas which came in tumblers with salted rims. After a few sips into our cocktails, our order of calamari arrived with a side of lemon remoulade sauce. The calamari portion was modest but very fresh--we could tell this wasn't the frozen stuff. The entrees arrived after the app dish was cleared. I had a delicious 12 oz. sirloin steak (medium) and my husband had the seared scallops. Both dishes came with seasonal veggies and they were delicious! We will definitely be back to try their pizzas, burgers, and beers. The only thing I wish was different was the music selection. 80's music was playing throughout the meal, but that might be because the crowd skewed closer to 40+ this Friday night. SoPo seems like a great place for families!

Restaurant review: had a groupon that covered Dinner for Two. Service was good. Very clean and very quaint. Nice atmosphere for a night out with your significant other. Cocktail menu is short, but very well put together. Extensive wine list and several beers available. The menu: again short on options, but both entrees were excellent. I highly recommend the broiled scallops. Definitely worth the trip.

I'm always looking for a neighborhood spot where I can go with friends and have cocktails and appetizers. Found it! Loved that there were tvs for sport fans, but the music was loud enough for us to hear but not make us yell. The nachos were fabulous. Was not a huge fan of the chicken wings (might be because they followed the nachos!). Joe was our bartender and he was right there when needed, and not there when we didn't need him. I might become a regular!

Got a great Groupon deal but even with out we will return. Nice atmosphere with a great bar area. My wife had Pan Seared Scallops and I had Pan Seared Haddock. Awesome!!! Nice menu that goes from pub food to gourmet at reasonable prices. Waitstaff was attentive and helpful. Great little place! Get away from the mall and the lines for heated up meals. Try some real food for the same price at SoPo!

Restaurant review (not deli). Writing this while sitting at the bar. I have not had the opportunity to eat here yet. I'm writing this review purely based on my disappointment immediately after reviewing the menu. I had great expectations for SOPO, after the addition to the area of the amazing food across the street at Easyday. I feel the reason that JP'S (the former establishment that floundered) is because of the over priced menu items. This place doesn't feel like a fine dinning restaurant...I doubt I'm going to drop $28 on a 10 oz steak or spend $26 on ravoli or a roasted chicken breast. Even a large wing is $15. I wanted to love this place and for it to become an immediate part of my usual rotation, but I doubt that it will. Some of the interior has changed, but as a whole it feels a lot like the former establishment (some of the art work is still the same.

Food is good, counter staff very friendly. I have yet to go to the restaurant, but I enjoy the food in the deli. Interesting names for the food based on local landmarks. Not as fast as some places, but sometimes you wait for quality.

Just tried the deli and was looking for a good sandwich or salad. Menu is pretty generic and I ordered small eggplant parm...it looks pretty good but was soooo salty, like cray cray salty. Like wash each bite down with a gallon of water salty. I kept getting hints of well season eggplant but, yeah you guessed it - totally overwhelmed with salty salted salt. Meanwhile, the scene in the deli was a bit of a hot mess- they weren't busy but people, including myself, waited quite a while for food and the woman behind the counter had a series of dramatic mini-freak outs over things that weren't very freak-outable. I think they could jazz up the menu a bit with some higher quality quality ingredients and I'd be thrilled if they filled in some of the holes on the salt shaker.

first mistake was not heeding advice to not go there. had a reservation for a large group on a friday night. when we go there, the place was virtually empty, and in the bar where the unhappy, rude and clearly bothered by us hostess, Karen, WAS actually empty at 6:30pm on a friday night. the five wait staff standing around looked terrified, no smiles, no welcome....we were told that we were to blame for having two reservations and this Karen. queen of mean, wasn't seating us all together. Despite the big empty room. We should have left. But it was after a wake and where everyone planned to meet. I couldn't tell you if the food was good or not. Karen, the hostess, was miserable. When finally we were all seated at our separate tables, we got up to do a toast to our departed friend - and let me say we weren't loud and because of the way we were treated we weren't ordering a helluve lot from the bar either...the hostess from hades told us to be quick, she didn't want alot of noise....in the bar. The wait staff was great for the most part, they kept apologizing for her. By far the worst experience I have ever had. We brought 35 people to dinner to their empty little restaurant on a friday night, which you would think they would be grateful for. We ate our meals quickly, drank our one drink and got out of there fast. Never ever again.

We had a fabulous meal at So Po! The portions were huge! Our server was super friendly and attentive. The casual atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend it!

Excellent service and especially kid-friendly, we just had a delightful lunch at the SoHo bar and grill/restaurant. The Broadway sandwich was outstanding, and the fries were perfect in between of steak fries and skinny fries.
